[Full Image]
The Okavango Delta is a unique ecosystem situated in the middle of the largest stretch of continuous sand in the world - the Kalahari Desert. This wetland lies like an oasis in an otherwise inhospitable land. Covering an area of around 18000 square kilometres at full capacity, the best way to explore this vast watery wilderness is by dug out canoe

   Itinerary & Highlights

  Day 1, Kasane
Leaving the mighty Victoria Falls behind, we cross into Botswana and arrive into our first camp in Kasane. This afternoon you have the option of going on a game drive or boat cruise into Chobe National Park, famous for its population of elephant and magnificent sunsets.

Day 2 - 5, Maun, Okavango Delta
The next major attraction on this tour is the immense beauty and vastness of Botswana’s Okavango Delta. It takes the good part of a day to reach Maun the gateway to the delta, from Johannesburg, but the experience is well worth the effort. Spend one night camping out in the wilderness where experienced and knowledgeable ‘polers’ guide you through the maze of channels by mokoro - traditional dug out canoe, and by foot on a walking safari.

Day 6 - 7, Khama Rhino Sanctuary, Johannesburg
For those wanting more adventure there is an opportunity to fly over the delta by small plane for a bird’s eye view of this natural wonder, before travelling onto the Khama Rhino Sanctuary, a recently established reserve whose aim is to restock the area with Rhino as well as other grazing animals. We finish in Jo’burg in the afternoon of day ten.
