Quito Spanish School and Homestay
Very few of the locals in South America speak much English, so why not extend your trip by a week or so and take the opportunity to learn a bit of Spanish. Quito is an excellent place to immerse yourself in the local language - and you'll be surprised at how quickly you'll begin to pick up the basics, or improve on what you might already know by taking classes and actually living with the locals. The city has a beautiful setting up in the high Andes and is divided into two main areas, the old centre with it's cobbled plazas and colonial buildings, and the more modern district full of shops, bars and restaurants.
The school we use is located in the Mariscal area of the city and has friendly staff, professional Spanish teachers, and welcoming home-stay families who will make every effort to make you feel at home. The school also arranges regular optional activities such as half-day, whole-day and weekend excursions, salsa and cooking classes and social evenings.
