There are further game spotting opportunities in the tiny kingdom of Swaziland, which has surprisingly varied landscapes. Malolotja Nature Reserve lies in the mountaineous north-west, and you go exploring on foot, walking right amongst zebras, warthogs and many colourful birds.

Kick off your exploration of South Africa with a tour of its most famous township. The residents of Soweto played an important part in the struggle against apartheid and the city was home to many African celebrities.
