Five days riding out from all of our different stables - so you are guaranteed to see the very best of both the coast & the countryside, with the chance (conditions and ability permitting) for riding on the beach !

Discover ancient mule tracks among the olive groves in the sierras or explore the natural park on a thoroughbred Andalucian!
All ability levels welcome - as we can draw from over 30 horses to match your ability! We can offer you English, Western or Spanish style riding on your holiday in Spain, with a wide selection of mounts ranging from those suitable for complete novices, to forward going for the more experienced riders.

Novice or Rusty Rider?
We can provide lessons from BHS instructors - or one to one lessons in enclosed arenas. You will be amazed at how quickly you improve, as you relax in the warmth and beautiful surroundings, before rapidly progressing to a great ride out in the beautiful countryside.

We're based in lovely Almuñécar which remains a typical Spanish sea side town. That means everything's within walking distance of your hotel or apartment - you have all the historic old town & castle to explore, a myriad tapas bars & restaurants, as well as 26 separate beaches right on your door step... So we don't tie you into a fixed meal plan as eating out here is so inexpensive (the tapas are free!!) and there is so much choice catering for all pockets and tastes!

All transport & airport transfers are included - so you dont need to hire cars or drive here at alL

No shared flats or rooms with strangers - all accommodation is for your private use so your room is your own

Non riding - or a "not as keen as you" - partner or friend? - We have the perfect answer for you, as all our other activities are available as well, so we can get them "totally sorted" while you enjoy your riding holiday here in Spain.

Itinerary / Highlights

Typical summer season riding week:
Saturday - We meet you at Malaga Airport (see transfer times) and transfer you to your accommodation, where we will run through your fully detailed welcome folder with all the local maps and guides you need to get the most from your stay.
Evening - After settling in we all meet up in one of the beach bars overlooking the blue sea for our welcome meeting with drink and tapas. Here we can discuss the week ahead, before enjoying a typical Andalucian meal & local wines in a local restaurant.

Sunday - Firstly over to our stables in the natural park, where you will ease into the saddle to enjoy an amazing ride high up into the sierras among the olive trees (no roadwork!). You will be well matched to your mount to enjoy the stunning scenery and vistas of this beautiful region, over to neighbouring towns with Arab castles and the bright blue sparkling sea.

Monday - After time off to relax on the beach, or perhaps hitting the old town with its cobbled streets and maze of little shops, we ride in the afternoon / early evening away from the heat of the day. Here we ride the trials and explore the real Spain behind the neighbouring coastal village of La Herradura on a choice of Western, Spanish or English tack, on some beautifully trained horses.
Evening - After our riding we meet up in a beach bar and then set off for an evening's mini-tour of Almuñécar to get you orientated. On this we will see some of the Roman ruins, the castle, old town and a few of the lovely monuments and statues by Miguel Moreno.

Tuesday - Today we set off a little earlier, enjoying the cool of the early morning before the heat of midday sets in and ride through the beautiful natural park land. Here we follow the ancient tracks through the pine forests, passing waterfalls and rise slowly into the olive groves.
Evening - Join us on our fun filled Tapas Trail, where €15 "in the kitty" takes around the old town with its tapas bars and restaurants. A great way to get to know the old part of town, with its cobbled streets lined with small shops as well as the local tapas & specialities.

Wednesday - Free day. Do as little or as much as you wish, perhaps trying one of our optional additional activities payable locally, go sightseeing or mountain biking, take a guided walk, hit the Aqua Tropic water park, or just relax by the glittering blue sea. Or take time to explore more of Almuñécar with its history dating back to Phoenician times and Roman ruins. The choice is yours!

Thursday - A gorgeous afternoon and evening ride. As the heat of the day subsides and the sun starts to dip we ride in the sierras watching the light change on the hills through purples and greys. As the sun slowly sets over the sea we may get the chance to take the horses for a quick paddle in the sea.

Friday -Time off in the morning to visit the weekly market to shop for local pottery, leather goods or Antonio's honey before we meet up at our coastal stables to agree the best route for our final ride from the countless choices available amongst the avocado, chirimoya and mango orchards. A great ending to the week, with fabulous views from the saddle over the glittering blue sea from the hills.
Evening After any last minute souvenir shopping or sun bathing we all meet up at a beach side chiringuito. Here we can swap stories and tales over a glass of the local wine or refreshing Tinto Verano and maybe go for a farewell paella night, or simply visit the old town with its myriad tapas bars.

Saturday - Transfer from your accommodation back to Malaga airport for your flight home.

Self catering apartments
Fully fitted a/c apartments conveniently located on the edge of the historic Arabic part of Almuñécar, adjoining the main shopping area. They are exceptionally well appointed, having recently been totally refurbished and are situated just 70m from the central beach. Suitable for up to four persons and are ideal for families, as each has a double or two single beds in the main bedroom, with a sofa bed in the living room. For comfort we recommend them for 2 + 1 adults or 2 adults + 2 children.

B&B or flexible HB Basis Hotels
We offer a great choice of hotels ranging from budget priced 2 stars up to 4 stars.
