Details RAS NUNGWI - ZANZIBAR:
The resort is purposely-built to blend with the natural surroundings and is the only exclusive ideal get-away for anyone who needs a relaxing holiday and for those adventurous people looking for some exclusive atmosphere combining the Village life without sacrificing many comforts whilst preserving and balancing the delicate land and sea flora and fauna. The unspoilt beach at Ras Nungwi is arguably the best on Zanzibar, and the nearby coral reef provides a beautiful lagoon. Low tide reveal sparkling white coral sand bars, and rock pools teeming with marine life. Guests can also enjoy the hotel's freshwater swimming pool, with stunning vistas of the Indian Ocean.
All 32 rooms are tastefully furnished, with hand-crafted four poster beds and indigenous decor, and all have ensuite facilities and balconies. Mosquito nets over all beds ensure a peaceful night's sleep, with the sound of the ocean rounding off a relaxing day in paradise. Lodge rooms have a garden view and Superior chalet rooms have air-conditioning , rather than the standard ceiling fan, while four superior deluxe chalet rooms also have a minibar and other extras ideal for honeymooners or guests simply wanting the best.
POLE POLE - MAFIA ISLAND:
Mafia Island is set in a Marine Park situated about 130 km south of Dar es-Salaam and about 25 km from the mainland. It is part of an archipelago formed of a number of very large islands and small uninhabited coral atolls . Due to its position alongside the barrier, the island is the meeting place of large oceanic fish and the the vast variety of fish common to the Indian Ocean coral reefs. There are over 400 species of fish in the park. The Park is a paradise for both expert scuba divers as well as those wishing to snorkel or sail in the native local boats from island to island. Massimo and Katia, a young Italian couple, spent several years designing and building the resort. The roomy bungalows with wide verandas looking onto the sea are built entirely out of wood and raised on stilts to ensure the maximum comfort for the guests.
Each bungalow covers 60 sq m with personalized fixtures and finishings. The floors are made out of hard woods (afrormosia, one of the rarest and valued tropical woods), the furniture from mahogany and the door and window frames from doussi. The beds have wooden slats and high quality spring mattresses. All linen is imported from Italy. Bathrooms have double washbasins, king-size showers, bidets and toilets.
FUNDU LAGOON - PEMBA ISLAND:
Fundu Lagoon is on Pemba Island, the sister Island to Zanzibar lying across the Pemba Channel to the north. Nestled into the secluded, undiscovered coastline of the Wambaa Peninsular the location boasts 4.5 Kilometres of white, sandy beach. The resort comprises 14 rooms, consisting of designer tents, set under makuti (thatch) roofs on wooden decks and each with a sea view, two bars and a restaurant with a modern 'eco' feel, specifically designed and hand-crafted to blend with the natural environment of this fertile isle. They offer luxury accommodation either directly on the beach or high on the ridge of the peninsula, all with superb sweeping views of the bay. Each room has a private balcony and ensuite bathroom. There are 2 suites with their own private chill out deck and plunge pool. Furnishings are stylishly simple throughout and made from natural, local materials.
The 14 bungalows are built on hardwood stilted decks, located discreetly amongst the trees on the beach and in the hillside overlooking the bay, all with their own sense of privacy yet giving full and easy access to the amenities. Each bungalow has its own hardwood-panelled bathroom with walk-in shower with hot and cold running water and presents the exclusive Fundu Lagoon product range created from local resources. Specially designed canvas interiors sit beneath Zanzibari roofing. Coconut wood furniture adorns the individual south-facing balconies. Combined with mini bar, ceiling fans and full room service each bungalow provides all the comforts and space you’ll need. A short walk from your bungalow takes you to the atmospheric restaurant and bar beneath a magnificent sweeping Makuti roof. A number of different levels give ample opportunity to dine alone or in groups, inside or out. The priority is to provide high-quality dishes reflecting the cuisine of the local area and its produce - the emphasis, of course, is on locally caught seafood whilst more carnivorous or vegetarian tastes are catered for with the same degree of care.
