& Highlights |

In the vicinity of Lake Bohinj there are 4 ski areas to explore – although these ski areas are not as large as the bigger Alpine resorts – there is the advantage in that the queues are shorter!
Vogel
Due to this being a 'high altitude' resort, the snow comes earlier and lasts longer here. The normal season lasts from 1st December to 1st May.
Mount Vogel is renowned for the reliability of the snow cover. This is due to its position on the first mountain barrier from the Adriatic Sea, giving more snow than other resorts of similar altitudes. The setting, high above Lake Bohinj, makes for stunning panoramas. In total there are 18 Kilometres of groomed runs to suit all levels.
Kobla
Located near to Lake Bohinj, Kobla resort is on lower slopes than Vogel – which is why they have the back-up of artificial snow if necessary!
Long, fast runs are plentiful here.
SoriskaPlanina
This is a smaller ski-area, and farther away from the lake than the previous resorts. It has a couple of features, making this worth a visit: firstly, a giant slalom course, and secondly, an electronically timed section, to assist in developing your speeding ability!
Senozeta
Nearer the lake than SoriskaPlanina, and a smaller resort, but ideal for learning, and smaller children. Night-time ski-ing 6.00 - 9.00pm on Thursday and Friday evenings.
Why not also have a go at some other great winter sports...
Snow-rafting
Just like white-water rafting, but without the white-water! It’s all about more fun in the snow!
Mountain Biking
This is to get those muscles really aching! Mountain bikes + snow tyres + snow = a different experience!
Ice-climbing
Test your mountaineering skills on a frozen waterfall – spectacular and great fun! |
