SURFING CAMPS AND SURFARIS - Also multi-adventure surf/kite holidays

Fuerteventura benefits from all year round surf and the reefs deliver the goods between October and April. All coastlines pick up swell but the majority of the action occurs on the infamous 'North Shore' however for those amongst you looking to surf empty peaks the south of the island still has lots of untapped potential.
For those wanting to learn how to surf or improve their surfing the island also has a wide range of quality beach breaks.

Zoco Boardriding Adventures has teamed up with the only BSA (British Surfing Association) approved Surfschool in Fuerteventura to bring you the 'North Shore Surf Experience'. We operate Surf Camps for beginners/intermediates all year round and Surfaris for experienced surfers in the winter months.

Our Surf Camps in Fuerteventura offer you a unique opportunity to learn how to surf in a safe and friendly environment with an experienced team of BSA qualified instructors, the best quality surf equipment, and 4x4 Land Rovers to get you off road and into the zone. Fuerteventura is blessed with good weather and consistent waves all year round, so you can join a camp whenever it suits you, what more could you want?

Tuition
Our teaching program has been developed according to BSA (British Surfing Association) standards and guidelines. The lessons provide a proven step-by-step approach to learn surfing safely and quickly. Our instructors are BSA qualified with level 3 Lifeguard certificates.

Safety
Your safety is our prime concern, we offer the following safety precautions:
- Soft skinned surfboards are available for novices to use.
- All surfing instructors are at least BSA Level I Accredited Coaches (which includes an open water lifesaving qualification).
- Trainee/Assistant coaches are supervised by an accredited instructor.
- An Instructor is responsible for no more than 8 pupils in the water at any one time.
- All surfboards have suitable leashes (ankle straps).
- Instructors have a suitable life saving aid near at hand whilst pupils are in the water.
- A first aid kit is available at the beach.

Surf Camp - Rough Course outline 1 week Surf Camp
Day 1
- Introduction including beach safety and familiarisation of Equipment - Paddling technique and proning in whitewater
- Catching a wave
- Standing/popping up
- Board control

Day 2
- Theory and practice
- Paddling & take off technique
- How to stand up/ride a wave to beach
- Pop up/stance correction

Day 3 and 4
- Theory and practice
- Take off technique in whitewater
- Pop up/stance correction
- Acceleration/stalling techniques

Day 5 and 6
- Theory and Practice
- Take off and riding Green Waves
- Techniques for paddling out/getting through waves
- sitting on board
- Straight and angled take offs (Front/Backhand)

Accommodation & Centre Details

People participating in a Surf Camp or Surfari have 2 choices of accommodation, the communal surf house or an apartment. The Surf House is perfect for people travelling alone or on a budget.

SURF HOUSE - Correlejo
Bedrooms 1, 2 or 3 - Sleeps Max 16 people - Bathrooms 2 - Kitchens 2

Description:
The communal surf house provides basic accommodation and is located in the heart of Corralejo. This is a perfect base for those travelling on a budget who don't mind sharing with other people and want to party the night away. The house is within easy walking distance of the shops, supermarkets and bars. There is a restaurant serving local Canarian fare at very reasonable prices right next door. The town beaches and ferry port are a five minute walk. The house is split over 2 floors, has 2 kitchens, lounge/living area and a total of 7 bedrooms. There is a large roof terrace providing plenty of outdoor space to eat, relax or party after a hard days surfing!

A continental breakfast is offered and this is served between 0900 - 1030.
All the rooms are simply furnished with single beds, cupboard space and secure storage for your kitesurfing gear.

CASAS QUEMADAS - Apartments - Correlejo

Description:
Casas Quemadas is located in the heart of Corralejo within easy walking distance of the shops, supermarket, bars and restaurants. This accommodation is ideal for discovering surfing in Fuerteventura and the North Shore reefs are easily accessible by car. The town beaches and ferry port are a five minute walk. This self contained 3 floor building holds a total of 12 apartments.

Rooms
All the apartments have sea views toward Lanzarote and are tastefully furnished fitted to a high standard. Each apartment has either 2 or 4 Hobs, small or large fridge freezer, safety deposit box, coffee maker, microwave and washing machine are available on request as well as extra cots. The 3 bedroom apartment has separate access from the street and a large terrace, a double bed and 2 bathrooms (1 en suite).
