Surf Coral House, Barbados

Barbados belongs to the Windward Islands, sitting east of the main Caribbean chain and about 220 miles north of Venezuela. Surfing in Barbados is one of life's greatest pleasures, a surf holiday to Barbados at anytime of the year is one not to forget. Famous for its laid-back atmosphere, clear blue water and white sand beaches, it also has some of the most consistent surf in the Caribbean.

Barbados can serve up some heavy waves but it is best suited to the surfer who enjoys chilling out on the beach and riding fun waves with a tropical backdrop.

Our surf centre is located on the south coast close to nightlife, supermarkets, shopping and health clinics. The south coast is beginner friendly with numerous surf breaks. We have apartments on the beach on a nice left point break called Surfers Point; this break has waves all year and is safe for beginners and kids. Just close by there is South Point, Freights Bay and Silver Sands.

Surfing in Barbados has to be one of life's greatest treats. Fun surf breaks are all year round in Barbados thanks to a consistent trade wind. The trade wind generates surf and blows it round the southern tip of the island, surf spots like Surfers Point, South Point and Freights all pick up this swell and produce long, clean waves.

During the winter month's, big groundswell from the North Atlantic travels down and lights up the famous surf spots on the north-east coast and west coast. Surf spots such as Soup Bowl have put Barbados on the map as a world class surfing destination.

Accommodation Details

The apartments at Coral House amke a great surfing holiday for surfers who just want somewhere to stay on a budget in Barbados. Staying on the south of the island is an ideal location to take on the waves on any coast, from the wide barrels of Soup Bowl (west) to the fun left-hand points of South Point (south) to the majestic surf of Dupies and Tropicana on the east coast. Errant can also provide car hire and all other surfing options including guides and coaching.

Perfectly located, the apartments are simple but comfortably furnished with large ceiling fans in living and bedrooms. Between the ocean breeze and the ceiling fans there is little need for air conditioning.

Each apartment has two couches in the living room, which can be used as additional beds to accommodate a third and fourth person. This provides an ideal solution for couples with children, as well as groups of three or four persons, travelling on a low budget.
