Errant Surf School has been set up by Chris Thomson, the founder of 121 Surf Coach, the first ever UK based private surf school. Prior to this, over the course of four years working for a large, group orientated surf school, Chris realised that to really learn to surf properly, it is critical that people of all ages receive real personal attention and specifically tailored coaching from top quality, committed teachers.

Following the success of his private operation, Chris has joined forces with some of Europe’s most qualified and experienced surf coaches to create Errant Surf School. Following the ethos of a private surf lesson, Errant is dedicated to providing the highest quality, personalised surf teaching for each and every client from day one. With top of the range facilities and the latest coaching resources, Errant Surf School is the natural choice no matter what level your surfing is at.

Based in the centre of the UK surfing scene - Newquay, Cornwall - the Errant Surf School is a level three approved surf operation with the British Surfing Association, the sport’s national governing body. The school is open to people of all ages and levels and provides a fully tailored lesson for you whether you’re surfing for the very first time, seeking insightful hints and tips to take you to the next level, require some private coaching or are looking for advanced, competitive surf training

Learning to surf is quite simply one of the best things you can do in life. Here at Errant we are fortunate to have some of Europe's best surf coaches at our disposal to help you through those first stages.

We also understand that people learn at different speeds and in different ways, depending on their physical and mental make-up. As a result of our many years of progressive surf coaching we have developed a range of unique techniques and a personalised style to help each and every surfer understand the waves, get to their feet and start controlling the surfboard.

Errant Surf School has a number of options to get you started and onto the right track from day one. Our half day and full day packages are ideal for people who would like to experience a taste of this exhilarating sport.

However following a taster session, many people are keen to progress as quickly as possible and our range of courses has been designed to enable you to do exactly that. We have created our weekend break and full week long surf courses, incorporating personalised coaching with insightful lectures on various key areas including wave prediction, wave selection, board design and board control.

Errant Surf School is also happy to welcome larger groups of students, stag and hen parties, friends or corporate bookings. We can tailormake each course to meet your needs and requirements.
