The best way to explore a region is on foot, and the Alps are no exception. This active adventure explores the dramatic natural beauty of the Swiss and French Alps.
Day 1 Geneva/Morgins - From Geneva head to the quaint alpine village of Morgins, which will be our base for the week.
Day 2 Tovassiere/Portes du Soleil Valley - A chairlift ride and a short, steep walk take us to La Truche where we enjoy a gentle stroll through alpine meadows to Tovassiere and the Fontaines Blanches waterfall. Return via the picturesque Chemin des Ponts in the Portes du Soleil valley.
Day 3 Montreux - Wander through vineyards and sample some local wines as we explore the wineries perched above Montreux and Vevey.
Day 4 Pointe de Bellevue/Portes du Culet - A challenging walk takes us through fields of wildflowers to the Pointe de Bellevue. Our hard work is rewarded with spectacular views of Mont Blanc and Lake Geneva. On our return, stop for some well deserved cheese tasting at the Ferrage cheese farm.
Day 5 Montreux - A chance to rest weary legs in the spa baths of Lavey and visit the beautiful lakeside Chateau de Chillon. A relaxing boat ride takes us to the delightful town of Montreux.
Day 6 Barme/Col de Cou - Starting in the unspoilt farmlands of Barme our guided walk takes us along well made tracks to the Col de Cou. Return via the steep and sometimes challenging Arrete de Berroi.
Day 7 Chamonix - Spend the morning walking through the picturesque French Alps before taking a cable car up to the Grand Balcon for stunning views of Mont Blanc. After our descent there is time to explore the 'birthplace of mountaineering', Chamonix.
Day 8 Geneva - Our rambles come to an end in the lakeside city of Geneva.
