Based around Derwent Water - “The Queen of the English Lakes” - and the picturesque Borrowdale Valley, our Lakeland holidays are the active way to explore some of England’s most beautiful countryside.

Our activity agenda ensures that you see the best of the mountains and lakes whilst participating in some fantastic adventures.

You will have time to check in and settle into your room before dinner and an introduction with your guide.

Saturday AM
Mountain Experience


When you visit the Lake District it is almost mandatory to climb a few hills!! We will be guided by a qualified mountain leader for a half day of walking in the spectacular mountains and fells.

Climbing and Abseiling


After lunch, we head for a local rock face. Our instructors will ensure that we are safely harnessed and provide expert tuition before we try our ascent. Descending by abseil is just fun, fun, fun!

Mountain Biking


Our route this morning may vary according to local conditions but here’s the basic plan. We start on a stretch of the old Keswick railway line to allow us to get familiarised with the bikes. Then it’s an ascent up Latrigg’s old miners’ path which is rewarded by an off-road descent to Spooney Green and a short ride on tarmac back to the hotel.

Gorge scrambling


Following a short uphill walk alongside the gorge at Stoneycroft Ghyll, we make our way downstream with a series of scrambles, slides, ducks, dives, swims and jumps. The experience is like being in a natural water park and is an absolute favourite each and every year.

Accommodation Details

Our Lakeland Weekend is based at the 3-Star Keswick Country House Hotel situated just 5 minutes walk from the centre of the bustling market town of Keswick.

The hotel is warm and welcoming with 74 tastefully decorated bedrooms. Each bedroom has a private bathroom with shower and guest toiletries, colour television, radio, hairdryer and tea and coffee making facilities. Tasty biscuits are also provided!

The restaurant offers a varied and tasty menu with generous portions that are ideal for replenishing those all important energy levels.
