Friday
Arrival and Dinner
You will have time to check in and settle into your room before dinner and an introduction with your guide.
Saturday AM
Mountain Experience
When you visit The Lake District it is almost mandatory to climb a few hills!! We will be guided by a qualified mountain leader for a half day of walking in the spectacular mountains and fells.
Saturday PM
Derwent Water Canoes
We head for Derwent Water “Queen of the English Lakes” and spend the morning exploring the lake in Canadian canoes. With a stunning Lakeland backdrop, this is a lovely way to discover one of Britain’s most beautiful lakes.
Sunday AM
Gorge Scrambling
Following a short uphill walk alongside the gorge at Stoneycroft Ghyll, we make our way downstream with a series of scrambles, slides, ducks, dives, swims and jumps. The experience is like being in a natural water park and is an absolute favourite each and every year.
Sunday PM
Climbing and Abseiling
Our final activity of an action-packed weekend takes place on a local rock face. Our instructors will ensure that you are safely harnessed and provide expert tuition before we try our ascent. Descending by abseil is just fun, fun, fun!
Monday
Depart or Extend Your Stay
We can arrange extra nights at the hotel at very reasonable rates allowing you to further explore this wonderful part of the country. |

Our Lakeland holidays are based at the 3-Star Keswick Country House Hotel situated just 5 minutes walk from the centre of the bustling market town of Keswick.
The hotel stands proudly in four acres of gardens and enjoys views of the Latrigg and Skiddaw Mountains. The location is perfect for a family holiday as the Keswick Leisure Pool is directly opposite the hotel and neighbours two parks with tennis and skateboard facilities. We’re sure you’ll have plenty to do!
The hotel itself is warm and welcoming with 74 tastefully decorated bedrooms. Each bedroom has a private bathroom with shower and guest toiletries, colour television, radio, hairdryer and tea and coffee making facilities.
The hotel restaurant offers an extremely good and varied menu and we strongly recommend the half board option.
This area of The Lake District is perhaps less visited than its more southerly lying counterparts but rest assured it is the crowds that are missing out. Keswick is a lovely market town and Derwent Water is, in our opinion, the most beautiful of the English Lakes. We think that the action- packed activity days coupled with a very pleasant and brilliantly positioned hotel provide the ideal location for some great family activities.
“The holiday really was excellent, every aspect!!”
