About the hotel
The Log Cabin is a gorgeous traditional Norwegian pine cabin set high in the picturesque hills of highland Perthshire. We are only 15 minutes drive from Pitlochry where on the way you can enjoy the remote beauty of Moulin Moor and see the sheep relaxing by the roadside! The hotel itself is set in secluded woodland where you can often spot local wildlife such as red squirrels, deers, pheasants, rabbits and buzzards from your own bedroom windows. From our front bar you can also enjoy stunning views down the glen and local countryside while eating some great food cooked using local ingredients such as venison, sirloin steaks and even local honey. Our friendly staff will make sure you are well looked after and children are most welcome as we have a special kids menu and lots of toys in the play area to keep the young ones amused. As well as lovely doubles and twin rooms we also have great family rooms and a large room with 4 single beds suitable for hill walkersbackpackers or for groups travelling together. For the hill walkersoutdoor enthusiasts we also offer a drying room facility and we are happy to make packed lunches for the next stage of your trip. All of our rooms have coffee and tea making facilities and en-suite bathrooms (some of our doubletwin rooms also have Tv's and Ipod docking radio alarm clocks). During the summer our restaurant and bar is open for evening meals from 5.30pm on weekdays and for lunches on Saturday and Sundays. (Over the winter we are open for evening meals FriSatSun but we can arrange meals on request on other days)
Directions
The village of Kirkmichael is on the main A924 equal distance (about 14 miles)between both Pitlochry and Blairgowrie. Once you arrive in Kirkmichael you turn over the bridge (right if coming from Pitlochry and left if coming from Blairgowrie)and drive up the tarmac road past the school turning quite a sharp left between 2 houses and then follow that road until you come to a large house called 'Curran House' (which is painted a burn't orangeyellow colour) where you turn right and head up the hill and you will find the hotel at the top. It only take about 3 minutes from the middle of the village.
