Trekking in the Julian Alps and Mt Triglav
This trip takes an 8 day journey around the fantastic scenery of the Slovenian Alps and the highest summit of the Triglav National Park, Mt. Triglav (2864m) and its surrounding - unique and unspoilt Alpine world. You will enjoy in beauty of Bled, Bohinj and Bovec areas, situated in the heart of sunny side of the Alps – Soca Valley, the valley of the Emerald river - Trenta Valley with Vrsic Pass and Kranjska Gora – All in all a great Mountaineering Adventure.

Slovenia is the green treasure of Europe. A colorful land with untouched natural environment is lying on the sunny side of the Alps. The Julian Alps in the north and north west of Slovenia are some of the most beautiful mountain ranges in Europe and extension the most southerly of the great Alpine range. These unspoilt mountains are a breath of fresh air for walkers and mountain climbers who come to enjoy the lush green valleys, crystal-clear rivers and the dramatic limestone peaks.
Wherever you are in Julian Alps it is possible to discover the natural beauties on foot. In the mountains of Slovenia there are more than seven thousand kilometres of marked trails, along which there are 165 mountain lodges, huts and bivouacs. The mountain world offers an abundance of both, easily accessible marks and those more difficult ones which can be reached with the help of experienced mountain guides. The Julian Alps offer superb Alpine Walking around Bled, Lake Bohinj, Bovec, trenta Valley and Kranjska Gora resort.

Day 1: Transfer from Ljubljana Airport (Venice, Wien, Munich) to Bled
Arrival at Brnik and transfer to Bled (aprox. 1 hour), dinner in a local restaurant with traditional and other food. Short walk around beautiful Bled like.
Accommodation in the Bled hotel***
Day 2: Bled – Bohinj Lake – Pokljuka – Blejska hut on Lipanca (1633m)
Breakfast in the hotel, transfer to Bohinj area with largest glacier lake in Slovenia. Short walk around lake with traditional villages and food. Transfer to Pokljuka plateau. Ascent of Blejska hut on Lipanca (1633m) from forests of Pokljuka plateau (2hours).

Day 3: Blejska Hut – Vodnikova hut - Planika hut (2404m)
From the hut the path ascends to the Vodnikova hut (4hours) and from there to Planika hut (2hours) below the summit of Mt Triglav summit. Excellent trekking through the heart of the Julian Alps.

Day 4: Planika hut – Triglav (2864m) – Dolic hut - Zasavska hut on Prehodavci (2071m)
Ascent day for Mt Triglav. From the Planika hut the path ascends to the steep incline to Triglav summit. A steep cliff path (steel hauser or steel ropes attached to the rock to provide security) continues along the ridge all the way to the top of Mt Triglav. Descending down the steep cliff path leads to the next hut below the summit Zasavska hut (6 hours).

Day 5: Zasavska hut on Prehodavci – Triglav lakes valley – Komna hut (1520m)
Our walk from Zasavska hut passes first one lake then another and reaching the Hut in the middle of Seven lakes Valley (3hours). From there we reach Black lake (1hours). After a short break, the path leads up to Komna plateau with another beautiful hut.

Day 6: Komna hut – Vratca (1807m) - Lake Krn hut (1370m)
After leaving the hut, the path passes Bogatin area (1hour) and continues to the Vratca saddle (2hour). The path leads almost all time down to the Krn Lakes hut (2hours).

Day 7: Lake Krn hut – Lake Krn – Kobarid - Bovec
Final day trekking. The path leads heads upwards to the beautiful Krn lake, and after this crossing Mt Krn (2245m) to the Dreznica Valley bellow mountains range. We will descend towards the Kobarid and see museum of World War I. After break transfer to Bovec near Soca river.

Day 8: Bovec (outdoors activities in the morning) – Trenta Valley - Vrsic Pass (1620m) – Kranjska Gora - Planica – Bled
Today no walks are organised, just to explore the Trenta Valley, one of the most beautiful and untouched Alpine valleys, Vrsic pass, Kranjska gora and Planica by transfer and short brakes (5 – 6 hours). From Planica to Martuljek areas and back to the lakeside resort of Bled.

Excursion around Slovenia / circle tour
Day 9: Bled – Tolmin – Piran (Adriatic sea) – Postojna Cave – Ljubljana - Bled
We invite you to join us to visit Karst region and the most beautiful and the oldest Slovenian coastal town Piran, where you can admire its charming Venetian architecture. A walking tour through the medieval town of Piran will take place and afterwards you will have plenty of time to take a swim in the Adriatic or have lunch in one of the numerous fresh fish restaurants. Afterwards you continue your journey to a picturesque village of Lipica, where for more than 400 years, beautiful white horses called Lipizzaners have been bred. On this day we take you to the biggest and worldwide known Slovenian cave system - the Postojna caves.Slovene cities and towns are like a rainbow of the world. The capital Ljubljana inspires visitors with its rich antique, medieval and contemporary heritage.

During this trip the group will spend 3 nights in a 2-3-star hotel on the lakeside at Bled (2) and Bovec. There will be 6 nights in the mountain huts. Accommodation is in dormitory style rooms that vary in capacity, some holding 8 persons per room and some as many as 25. In the hut are also toilets and washbasins – some of them are more like mountain hostel than hut. There are also beds sheets and blankets supplied. |
