Trip of a lifetime wrangling with gigantic sturgeon
Sturgeon fishing in the Fraser Valley area of British Columbia is considered world class. The Fraser Valley area is one of the largest sturgeon production areas in the world. Given this factor it offers anglers from across the globe the opportunity to consistently hook into these prehistoric fish. A common size for sturgeon is 3 to 6 feet in length with several larger fish in the 7 to 10 foot range hooked throughout the season. Sturgeon are well known for their long hard runs which usually lead to a big tail walking jump! Sturgeon test the strength of the pursuer, with our guides putting clients on fish consistently all day. This is a great opportunity not to be missed!
Sturgeon fishing is very consistent all year, but it does have two prime peak periods. This is when the smelt migration occurs in the spring time (May-June) and in the fall (mid September - mid November) when the salmon migrations are in full swing. Summer time offers anglers a great fishing experience as this is when the larger sturgeon come out to play. Nothing beats a warm day in the sun while wrangling with large sturgeon! Also this is when we start to offer trips into the majestic Fraser Canyon. The Fraser Canyon holds some very decent sized sturgeon. Excellent scenery surrounds you within the large rocked canyon walls. This is a unique fishing trip that every angler should experience at least once in their lifetime.
