Tuli Adventure Trail

A varied 6 day/5 night adventure in the Northern Tuli Game Reserve combining 2 nights at Nokalodi, 1 night in a hide and 2 nights at Tuli Safari Lodge.

Activities can be closely tailored to guests’ specific interests – walks and drives can focus on general wildlife, birds, geology, tracking and/or history – plus there’s the chance to participate in community & conservation projects.

Price Excludes

Day 1 - Meet your ranger at Pont Drift border post or Limpopo Valley Airfield and transfer to Nokalodi Tented Camp in time for a light lunch served under an ancient Nyala Berry Tree. Nokalodi overlooks beautiful riverine bush and is backed by a massive sandstone cliff where resident Black Eagles nest.

The comfortable Meru-style tents have en-suite outdoor bathrooms & private patios. A brief rest, then off on your first adventure with an afternoon game drive followed by sundowners and a twilight drive home with the spotlight. A traditional potjie dinner will be ready for you on your return to camp.

Day 2 - Wake up to a light breakfast before setting off on a morning walk, exploring the beautiful wilderness of Tuli on foot before retuning to camp for a sizzling brunch. Enjoy an afternoon at leisure in the peaceful atmosphere of Nokalodi, perhaps spotting some wildlife from your patio and enjoying sundowners overlooking the Limpopo. After an early evening dinner, it’s time for the excitement of a night drive and the opportunity to spot some of the area’s nocturnal species.

Day 3 - Awake to the sounds of the bush & after a light breakfast enjoy a game drive to the confluence of the Shashe and Limpopo rivers, a unique and scenic spot where Botswana, South Africa and Zimbabwe meet. There’s the opportunity to spot Pel’s Fishing Owls which breed here, and other water birds in the permanent pools. Return to camp after a picnic lunch, and get ready to stretch your legs with a guided walk to the hide. After a braai dinner overlooking a waterhole, you’ll be ready for a well-deserved sleep under the stars.

Don’t forget to have your binoculars handy just in case!

Day 4 - Sunrise out in the bush together with tea/coffee & rusks before another fascinating walk takes you to Tuli Safari Lodge - your charming home-from-home for the next two nights, nestling on the banks of the Limpopo. Once you’ve settled into your suite, you’ll be ready for a hearty breakfast and then have time to enjoy the lodge – perhaps having a swim, visiting the hide or viewing deck, touring our conservation & community project centres or maybe just having a snooze! A light lunch, then more relaxation time before enjoying a late afternoon drive and sundowners from one of our dramatic viewpoints. Dinner this evening
will be in the lodge’s boma together with entertainment from the Tuli staff choir – ending day 4 on a high.

Day 5 - After a good night’s sleep you can set the pace of the day with optional activities including an opportunity to visit a local village, participate in one of our conservation projects or maybe a horse ride (extra charge applies for riding). Alternatively, join in with the lodge’s morning & afternoon game drives or walks. However you’ve spent your day, dinner in a special location out in the bush or in the lodge grounds will be a perfect finish.

Day 6 - An early morning game drive with breakfast out in the bush marks the end of your Tuli Adventure Trail, leaving you refreshed and exhilarated ready for your onward journey.
