Day 1 Travel up from Brighton to North Wales collecting challengers as we go. This will take most of the day but it's a great chance to get to know the people you'll be completing the challenge with. In the evening we'll enjoy a hot meal before the mountain safety briefing, and then off to bed early for a good night's rest! Day 2 Up early and we'll make our way to the foot of Crib Goch a knife edge ridge with almost vertical drops on either side which leads us to Garnedd Ugain and then onto Mount Snowdon the largest peak in Wales! From the peak our route descends to the valley bottom allowing us to meet our support vehicle, have a short break and get some well earned lunch. From here its all back up hill as we tackle another series of mountains including the Glyders and Tryfan which hosts the two standing stones Adam and Eve. At the foot of Tryfan we will have dinner before ascending for the final time. Day 3 The final section will be almost entirely in darkness so plenty of head torch batteries are required! This will obviously make navigation harder but guiding you all the way will be one of our Mountain Leaders. The challenge is a difficult one but we descend to the valley floor 3 times to meet our support vehicle so don't worry if you really can't go on, you can always get in the wagon! With the challenge over we will all journey home, tiered but very happy! Welsh 3000 Stats: Total Distance 48.2km (30 miles) Ascent 4155m (13632 ft) Descent 3997m (13114 ft) Estimated Time 20-24hours All those who complete the challenge within the 24 hours will receive a FREE t-shirt! |
