Windsurfing Adventures
Over the past decade, Fuerteventura has established it'self as one of the best windsurfing holiday destinations. The resort of Correlejo in the North of Fuerteventura is the main windsurfing center and is only a short transfer time from the airport.
From March/April through to August/September the infamous trade winds provide perfect wave riding conditions for the first couple of months, with the remains of the winter swells, and flat slalom conditions from May onwards. For the remainder of the year there is still sufficient wind in the North for beginners to learn in the safety of the sandy-bottomed lagoon and for wind junkies there are plenty of other spots with more favourable wind conditions within easy reach.

The WINDSURF CENTRE was founded in 1987, is a recognised VDWS center and has been successfully running windsurfing courses for people of all ages from all over the world. The Pro Center is well respected as one of the best training grounds in europe.
Instructors
The centre have an experienced team of windsurfing instructors who are accustomed to coaching at different levels. Most of the team have travelled extensively, have a healthy respect for the ocean and the environment and are fully qualified in their respective countries. Languages spoken include: French, German, English, Spanish, Italian, Swedish, Norweigian and Danish. The team have a keen interest in other sports such as surfing, sailing, kitesurfing, snowboarding and diving.
Coaching
We offer a wide range of coaching and tuition, from beginner up to advanced. Although the centre is located at an intermediate - advanced location, a 20 minutes drive away there is an ideal beginners teaching lagoon. All the beginner / renewal / improver courses are run in this lagoon, where there is shallow (1m), protected water with a sandy bottom.
Safety
Safety is an important factor when participating in any sport especially water sports. The centre is constantly striving to create a safe environment to learn in.
All our courses offer you the flexibility to develop at your own pace however as a rough indication take a look at the outline below:
Beginner course - 3 days
This course covers:
- Starting, 180 degree turn, steering.
- Max group size: 8 persons
Renewal course - 2 days
This course is aimed at those who completed a beginner's course last year, but since then have done little windsurfing. It includes:
- Recap basics, fast tacking, harness, launching and landing technique.
Improver course - 2 days
This course is aimed at those who have done around 30 hours windsurfing, and now need to get to the next level. It includes:
- Fast tack, gybe, harness, beachstart.
Water start - 2 hours
Gybe - 2 hours
Private - 1 hour
Anytime, any area you need coaching
The centre stock over 70 Fanatic boards and about 170 North sails. The equipment is designed for beginners, intermediates and advanced windsurfers. Safety is always a key factor. Beginners will use boards designed for both stability and safety and the instructors will select a board suitable for your size, weight and level. All the equipment is checked and maintained on a regular basis to ensure you have the best material at your disposal. The centre also provide a wide range of good quality wetsuits at no extra charge.
