Zap Cat Experience

The ZapCat is a light weight, twin hulled inflatable boat with a large outboard engine that provides an absolute mountain of power! The lightweight power horse zips across the water at speeds reaching 50 mph. Incredibly, the ZapCat will get to that speed in around 3 seconds! During this aquatic ride of your life you will be exposed to between 2 and 3 G's in the turns, which is fantastically good fun!

The smile from ear to ear is simply irreversible at these speeds as you bounce and zoom across the surface. Originally designed as a surf rescue boat, the ZapCat has developed into the world's most popular one design powerboat at championship level, and has now been made available for all speed freaks to enjoy what the pros have been keeping to themselves all this time! If the weather permits, you may even get to drive it yourself!

Once you have arrived and been welcomed to the centre your day will begin with a thorough safety briefing covering all techniques and aspects of the ZapCat. You will then be ready to hit the water and your instructor will demonstrate to you exactly what these fantastic machines are capable of.

You can expect to spend as much time in the air as on the water! Then, weather permitting and at the instructors discretion, it's your turn to open up the engine and feel the power of The ZapCat. The support boat is a 225hp Rigid Inflatable Boat so when someone else is taking their turn on the main attraction you still get to power around on this little beauty!

Restrictions:
Age Restrictions: Min age is 16. (Under 18's require parental consent ) You will not be able to take part if you have back or neck problems, are pregnant or have heart conditions. Non swimmers are accepted but you must inform centre at safety briefing
Additional restrictions in Southampton: Weight Restrictions: Max weight 21 Stone. Height Restrictions: Min height 4'10, Max height 6'6"

Duration:
Your experience will last anything up to three hours, depending on the weather and number of other people doing the experience on your day (it is a popular one). You will have approx 20 - 30 minutes aboard the ZapCat which is sufficiently satisfy your need for speed!

What to Wear / Equipment:
Wetsuits or drysuits, buoyancy aids and helmets will be provided on the day. Be sure to bring a swim suit & towel and sun block if it's hot, with warm clothing to change into if it's not.

Group Size / Spectators:
There will be a maximum of three people per ZapCat including the instructor in Brighton and 2 people including the instructor in Southampton. Spectators are welcome, as there are facilities close to the centres such as waterfront bars, cafes, restaurants etc. Guests should take a pair of binoculars if they want to follow the action.

Weather:
Extreme weather conditions may cause the experience to be cancelled or 'toned down' - please call the centre if in doubt.

Availability:
Available on weekends throughout the summer (March to October) in Brighton. Available on weekends year round in Southampton.
