Brighton: Risky and Risque
Brighton has somewhat of a reputation. Even for weekend visitors, it's more than just another iconic English seaside town of piers, arcades and ice cream. There's a history rich in tales of mad princes, and mods and rockers, all tied up in an eclectic bundle of arts, crafts and liberal attitudes. It's a town that's also set perfectly for adventure sports. With the beach to your front, there's sailing, surfing, and stand-up paddle boarding, but inland there's also plenty going on.
If you need ideas for a hen party where the girls would rather get down and dirty outside of the clubs, then look back from the beachfront to the Sussex countryside: The South Downs serve up some top quadbiking routes and harbour woods perfect for paintballing.
It's the ability to roll up to Brighton and get the best of both worlds that's so appealing: get out of town for a Go Karting session, but return in time for the town to reveal it's hedonistic side. It's a clubbers paradise - set off with swanky bars and beachfront boozers. Bring a hen party to Brighton and you'll need to keep a close eye on the head count; they say that there are no real residents of Brighton, just people who decided to stay…
Spend more than a few days in Brighton and you'll soon see that along with the party crowd, there's a hardcore sporting element: Small groups of mountainbikers making their way up to 'the Downs'; kitesurfers sorting out their boards down towards Hove; and skateboarders and Parkour practitioners making the most of every kerb and ledge. It's alive!
If the average Brighton hen night fills you with dread, think again: there is no 'average' Brighton hen night! It's not your average town. In fact, it couldn't be farther from the average. In the same way you'll wander the streets and lanes of Brighton wide-eyed at the train-crash of fashions, you'll equally struggle to decide how you are going to fit everything into just two days! That's why there are no Brighton residents, just people who stayed.
