Keeping your 5 top travel resolutions alive
Half way into January and the pressures of work are once more upon us. And if you want to see more of the world this year, it’s time to bring in those resolutions to help make your travel dreams a reality.
If you’ve long held travel ambitions,

or just want to experience the world through the eyes of a traveller and not a tourist, take inspiration from our top 5 travel resolutions.
Read them everyday, pin them to your computer screen, email them to yourself; whatever it takes: this is the year you get out there and do it!
Travel more
Yes, it’s what we all want to do: throw off the chains of work and get out into the world. There are untold mysteries to unfold, and roads less travelled to wander. This year I will travel more.
Learn a language
Pick a country that you love, plan a visit, but this time take the time to learn the lingo: There’s nothing better than being able to talk with your hosts without feeling like some colonial buffoon, forced to revert to the “you speeeek Engleeesh” lines.
Take better travel pictures
This time I will return with half-decent travel pictures. Enough wasted opportunities; I’m getting a better camera and learning how to use it. Have a look at our travel photo-tips for a few pointers.
Read great travel books
I will learn more: Dump the average tour brochures and dig out the best travel writers; there are some really good examples online as well as in print.
Take the time…
No more rushing between tourist hot spots, I’m taking the time to enjoy my trip: If it means just sitting and watching the world go by, do it. You’ll return an altogether different traveller. Become infused with culture, not a collector of it.
