The Outdoors Show: its the biggest show on earth!
Well, we might be exaggerating a little, but it’s massive! If you are into any of the major outdoor activities then look forward to The Outdoors Show in January – and we’ve got 3 pairs of tickets to give away!
From 12 – 15 January the Excel in London hosts four separate shows all pooled together: The Outdoors Show, the London Bike Show, the Tullett Prebon London Boat Show and the Active Travel Show.
The Outdoors Show has been running for 11 years. This year it’s host to the Finlandia Vodka Travel & Adventure Stage, where adventurers like shipwreck hunter David Mearns will be sharing their exploits, and there’s also as the best of the Banff Mountain Film Festival to watch.
And if you want to get physical, get over to the Climbing Village where you’ll find a variety of walls on which you can practice your technique. Snappers can wander the Photography Village, foodies can feast in the Farmers Market, and if you are inspired to leave the office behind, check out the ‘Careers in the Outdoors’ stage.
Newcomer, The London Bike Show, started only last year but is booming thanks to the UK’s new love of cycling. This year it’s rolling with twice the number of exhibitors. There’s the Animal Relentless Bike Tour delivering some mountain bike freestyle, London’s first ever indoor international bike polo competition, and clever cycling gear from all the leading brands.
Last year, combined with The London Boat Show, the three events attracted more than 70,000 visitors – making it the largest consumer event of its kind in Europe, ever (see, I was close).
And if you are more interested in hearing from the tourist boards and activity providers then check out The Active Travel Show – perfect if you are thinking of a round the world adventure or just need more adventure travel information.
Running over four days, tickets are understandably in high demand. But if you fancy wining a pair, just leave a comment below telling us about your greatest adventure – and the Adventure Sports Holidays team will award the tickets to the most amazing one!

Looking forward to the food! And keen to hear from any companies that make natural carb drinks. We’ll also have gear reviews from our bloggers on each of the main sports etc.
Hiking out to camp at Shiphead Point in Gaspe Canada, a sea cliff point with a light house. Upon arrival we realised we had left the tent poles in the car 15 miles behind us. It was dark, but the moon was full and the sound of Blue Whales in the Peninsula was comforting, so we slept under the stars, and woke to the solstice sunrise at 4:15 am, along with a family of black bears foraging for berries only 8 feet away from us. They didn’t seem to mind us and us them, it was so peaceful. They rummaged back through the bushes, and we climbed down the cliff and had a swim in the cold Atlantic. Memorable.
Bungee Jumping the pipe in New Zealand (150m) although Madeira as a destination with Nature Meetings is also a lot of fun, from trekking to parapenting, diving to swimming with dolphins.
My greatest adventure was bridge jumping in Spain
I met a guy who was starting a sports drink company. Actually at the same place as my greatest “adventure” happened. It involved an angry Capuchin monkey, my travelling buddies achilles tendon, and a wheel barrow. Lets just say it ended with an operation (on the person not the monkey) and spending 3 months travelling with someone on crutches who was known the length of the Andes as ‘That monkey boy”.
