This ecological paradise has been recently 'discovered' as a top kitesurfing spot on Ceara's windswept and sun-drenched northern coastline. Nick named 'The Flat Water Sea' it is situated about 1 hours drive south-east of Jericoacoara on the outskirts of Itarema. The attraction to kitesurfers is clear - the open ocean has some good wave spots and a short 100m stroll across a spit of sand brings you to the inner 'flat water sea' with consistent winds and butter flat water.
