The Embratur - Brazilian Tourism Institute , created in November 18, 1966 as Empresa Brasileira de Turismo, was intended to encourage tourism by allowing conditions for generation of employment, income and development throughout the country

Since January 2003, with the establishment of the Tourism Ministry, the performance of Embratur focuses on promotion, marketing and supporting the marketing of products, services and tourist Brazilians abroad.
