In winter, Bahia Feliz is one of the windiest spots on the Canary Islands. The wind blows sideshore from the left, and there is perfectly flat water inside the bay.

Further out, wave novices will find a swell with waves that are just right for jumping. In the morning, when conditions are easier to handle, we train our beginners. In summer, the trade winds are stronger and more constant but they mostly come more from the north, so that Bahi­a Feliz is frequently on the leeward side of the island during high summer.

For this reason, Club Mistral organizes surfing excursions for advanced surfers six times a week, in the centre's own bus, to high-wind spots at venues such as Pozo Izquierdo, Salinas de Arinanga, or Ketchup. In winter, we organize these excursions at least once a week.
