Island Kayaking Adventures was founded in 1998 by Amarilin Alamo (certified tour guide), Nestor Martinez and their sons. As a family, they loved the waters surrounding Puerto Rico and realized that there were some unique areas that they wanted to share with people, namely Laguna Grande which is a Bioluminescent Lagoon in Fajardo. They started out small and built up their business to a fleet of 30 kayaks.

Being a family business they provided the tours themselves for the first couple of years. As the business grew, they have been happy to employ some very special people as tour guides. They are treated as members of the family and Nestor and Amarilin are very proud of their professionalism. Over the years, Island Kayaking Adventures have offered many different tours on the island of Puerto Rico, like diving, fishing, snorkeling and kayaking. The company main objective is to show their visitors all the beautiful scenarios and the variety of activities that they could do in the island, while make them aware about how important are the ecosystems and how to protect them.
