In December 2001 the States of Jersey agreed in principle that the sum of £10 million be set aside over the following five years for a new Tourism Development Fund set up to replace the old Tourism Investment Fund. To the 31 December 2008 there were 66 projects that had received, or were receiving assistance from the Fund. Seven new projects were approved for funding during the year and other applications were under consideration.
