WELCOME TO MANTA SAIL TRAINING CENTRE (Marine Advisory Network & Training Authority)

The training program is tailored for each client and follows the national sailing plan drawn by MANTA, following guidelines by the International Sailing Federation (ISAF), Federation Francaise de Voile (FFV) and Royal Yachting Association (RYA) with modifications for Vietnam. Meanwhile, developments are underway for a Vietnam Sailing Federation.

The previous six months has focused on Vietnam’s national team training and National Sports University training. Wednesday afternoon racing, a recent development, attracts the local watersports crowd and others. The backdrop is a gentle beach gradient with minimal beach break, flat waters, winds strengthening offshore, palm trees, fishing boats and sand dunes.

VISION
An umbrella advisory organization committed to promoting, developing, inspiring and standardizing sail sports for Vietnam, broad-based to a national team. United on behalf of Vietnam’s Olympic Committee in collaboration with the Ministry of Transport University and the National Sports University, to affiliate with regional and international sail sports federations to promote human and environmental health.

MANTA SAIL TRAINING CENTRE
• 1st training centre in Vietnam
• 1st national sailing plan (follows guidelines of Fédération Francaise de Voile (FFV), International Sailing Federation (ISAF) and Royal Yachting Association (RYA)

• 1st National Sports University sail training
• 1st sail training to fishermen for conservation purposes

EQUIPMENT
Fleet of 20 dinghies:
including Laser Standards (2), Laser Radials (2), 420 (1), Open Bic (1), RS Fevas (2) , RS Teras (2), Vietnam Optimists (2), Vietnam Sunfish (1), Pelican 12s (5) with a rescue RIB and stand-uppaddle board. Equipment is new except for the 420 and Laser Standards used to teach the fishermen in Con Dao.

Kid's range:
including Laser RS Tera, Flying Fish (VN Optimist trainer), Open Bic

The centre is a basic barn on the beach with 11 rooms, a large event room and ten guard puppies.

MANTA Sail Training Centre, Vietnam’s only sailing school, formally opens just after Tet (11 February 2011).
