We are the official sailing school for The Moorings, owned by TUI Marine, the largest charter company in the world. In the British Virgin Islands we provide Learn to Sail, Live Aboard Cruising on catamarans and monohulls, Fast Track to Cruising and for powerboaters, two power-cruise courses. All of these holiday packages are available every week of the year out of The Moorings base in Tortola.

We also have six locations for all levels of sailing lessons in the United States including three in Florida, Maryland, New York, and New Jersey. U.S. based sailing school holiday packages are available in Florida at South Seas Island Resort on Captiva Island, Pink Shell Beach Resort & Spa on Ft. Myers Beach, and the Hampton Inn & Suites in St. Petersburg; and The Inn at Perry Cabin in St. Michaels, Maryland. Holiday packages include your resort accommodations and tax, course tuition, textbooks, certification, a test practice sail without the instructor aboard, log book and course diploma. Most meals, taxes, and other fees are also included in all Live Aboard courses.

Our most popular course is the Fast Track to Cruising (an exclusive program registered with the United States Patent Office) - which takes you from beginner to cruise-ready in one week. You start with the first two-days of our Learn to Sail course on a Colgate 26 and on day three board one of our 43'-50' cruising monohull or catamaran yachts. By course end you will have achieved US Sailing Bareboat Cruising Certification, with skills and confidence to start chartering on your own. If you have basic sailing experience you may go direct into our five-day Bareboat Cruising or Live Aboard Cruising course .

The Learn to Sail course is offered in three-day and five-day holiday programs. Taught on award-winning, high performance Colgate 26 day sailers - this course gives you US Sailing Basic Keelboat certification and the skills and knowledge to confidently handle sailboats up to at least 30 feet. Other courses offered include Catamaran Live Aboard Navigation, Performance Sailing and Racing, Coastal Passage Making and Offshore Passage Making. All cruising courses are taught on 43'-50' cruising yachts.

Offshore Sailing School is owned by Steve and Doris Colgate, the best known sailing educators in the United States. Steve Colgate, who founded Offshore in 1964, is an America's Cup and Olympic competitor who has competed in innumerable national and international one-design championships, 6 Transatlantic Races, and 20 Newport to Bermuda Race. He has raced all over the world in maxi-regattas as tactician and principal helmsman. In 1990 Doris Colgate founded the National Women's Sailing Association and the Women's Sailing Foundation, dedicated to providing opportunities for at-risk girls and sailing education for women from all walks of life. Together, the Colgates have written the comprehensive textbooks for Learn to Sail, Cruiising and Performance Sailing and Racing courses.
