Skydive Resende
Because of the large movement of paratroopers in the weeks following its opening, the owners quickly changed its guidelines that, until now, were only to train a team of four-way. What began as a hobby turned into a business. It was decided then mount the Club-School Skydive Resende skydiving, aiming to train students and promote the practice of sport.
The Club started its activities with the Cessna 185 - PT-CFK that over the years has operated at capacity, getting to perform up to 35 takeoffs per weekend.
In April 1994, Skydive Resende held the first Easter Boogie with the PT-CFK (Resende) and PT-DQx (Boituva).
In July 1994, the team Skydive Resende I, composed by John Carlos Matos, Eduardo Pazzuello, Roberto Sassima, Rogério Martinatti, Abare and Marcelo Siqueira (Cameramam) won the title of Champion of Brazilian Senior 4-way, a fact that raised nationally technical concept of their athletes. Since then, the Skydive Resende has become a major attraction to athletes interested in learning and develop work related.
With the big move in 1995 the Club acquired its second aircraft: The Cessna 180 - PT-BXN. This year, we also initiated the construction of Hangar Skydive Resende, which so far held its activities in a room provided by the Aero Club, better known as "Castle Grasco.
Team Skydive Resende II, composed by John Carlos Matos, Carlos Arentz, Pazuello Eduardo, Roberto and Marcelo Siqueira Sassima (Cm), was Vice Champion in the 4-way senior Brasileiro 1995.
1996 was a banner year and turning the story of Skydive Resende. This year the club has made great changes in its shareholding structure and property.
First, the three owners decided to dissolve the partnership. The club was then taken up by John Carlos Matos (current president).
Months after the ownership change, the club acquired its third and largest aircraft, the famous Beechcraft King Air - PT-WAE. On this date, the first aircraft to launch the turbine of paratroopers from Brazil. The arrival of the aircraft launched a major development, not only at Skydive Resende but throughout the skydiving Brazilian who, until now, had only Piston aircraft for launch.
Even in late 1996, the work was completed by Hangar Club headquarters, which now offers a wide and modern infrastructure to its athletes, as manifest computerized folding area covered, video rooms, classrooms, accessories shop, toilets, accommodation, false plane, barbecue and more.
All these changes led the club to a big rise, which in 1997 was considered one of the best athletes by jumping areas of Brazil.
In January 1997, the Club held the first of Boogie in Paraíba, and in September, the first boogie Blumenau.
This year, Team Skydive Resende II dissolved itself and joined with some athletes from St. Paul. It was then mounted the Action Team, comprised of: John Carlos Matos, Rogerio Martinatti, Peten and Ricardo Pierre Chofard. The team was Brazilian champion in 1997, thus earning the right to represent Brazil in the first World Air Games, which took place in Turkey that same year.
In 1998, Skydive Resende opened the Bud's bar: a modern snack bar installed in Hangar-based Club that meets all of the athletes and the general public.
In September 1999, the King-Air Club made a forced landing due to engine breakdown. This incident has made our club stayed out of activity for 10 months, time needed to repair the aircraft. It is worth remember that despite the incident, nobody was injured. In July 2000, with the aircraft repaired and new turbines, the activities resumed in full force.
This year, the athlete John Carlos Matos left the team to form the Action Team Skydive Resende III, consisting of: John Carlos Matos, Marcelo Siqueira, Jose Carlos Garcia Marat Leiras and Gustavo Grosso (Cm). This team was runner-up Brazil in 2000.
In 2001, the Club has a new trading partner. Café Toko, in February, held the first Fellowship Café Toko Parachuting, where we have over 250 athletes registered. In December, the company held the first meeting of Friends of Skydive Resende.
Currently, Skydive Resende provides air support to the boogies of Buzios, organized by Aerostore and boogies in Vila Velha, organized by the Federation of Parachuting of Espirito Santo.
In 2001, two of the team Skydive Resende III (John Carlos and Jose Carlos) were invited to participate in the Brazilian team of 8-way, which represented the parents in the 2nd World Air Games in Spain.
Today, Skydive Resende is 10 years of activity and more than 100 000 entries made.
Until today, is considered one of the best drop zones in Brazil and, of course, "A MORE FRIENDLY."
