For many years, the Bay of Roses has been known as the best surfing spot with the most constant winds in Northern Spain. The reason is the strong and steadily blowing tramuntana, which has a firm grip on wind and weather conditions in the vicinity of the Pyrenees. This wind is particularly strong in spring and autumn (with wind forces of 5-8/9 bft.) and blows sideshore from the right at the Skyriders centre. The thermal wind prevails in the summer months (mid-June to mid-September). It comes side-onshore from the right, with a wind force of 3-5 bft. Conditions could not be more ideal. The thermal wind is very reliable and builds up towards midday.

Directly in front of the Club Mistral centre is the fine, sandy beach, which drops off gently and is about 80 m wide. The shallow-water area in the water extends for 30 m, perfect for moving on from beach start to water start or practising the power gybe. The location of the Club Mistral centre and the wind directions make this an absolutely safe multi-spot, where you will never drift out to sea. Nevertheless, our rescue boat is also there, in case of emergencies. The windsurfer and kitesurfer zone is indicated by signs and buoys and is located directly in front of our centre. We thus have a huge stretch of beach to ourselves here, because bathers are mainly to the left of this zone, on the 2-kilometre beach of the La Ballena Alegre camping site.
