Founded in 2004 by Ricardo Taveira, certified instructor by IKO – International Kiteboarding Organization – Sofia Teles, also a IKO certified instructor, South Adventures is a company that is specialized in two of today’s most successful sports: Kite Surf and SUP (Stand-Up Paddle).

Our offer is intended for all sorts of sportspeople: from absolute beginners to more experienced kitesurfers who want to explore unique and deserted spots that Algarve kitesurf and SUP has to offer.

The Algarve is probably the area of the country (kitesurf Portugal) that has the best conditions for practicing Kitesurf or SUP. Not only are the average annual temperatures extremely enjoyable but we also can practice with all wind and wave directions, in a normally calm waters and surrounded by stunning landscapes.

Our Kite and SUP School is 100% mobile, we teach where the conditions are better… we don’t wait for the wind or waves, we search for it, providing the best conditions, everyday, to kitesurf, or SUP in Algarve.

Furthermore, South Adventures is able to organise Kite and SUP Trips providing transport for our clients, by boat, to the deserted and ideal islands in Ria Formosa, with its fantastic kite and relaxed wave spots, all of them being perfect shallow kitesurf lagoons on one side, waves on the other.

For those who come from abroad, South Adventures has protocols with several hotels in the region, and you can select rooms that range from two-star apartments to five-star resorts. Transportation to the chosen practice site, as well as to and from the airport is also provided.

For all those who still have some adrenalin available, South Adventures can organise Surf trips or surf lessons, wakeboard, water ski, sailing, canoeing, mountain biking, rappel, paintball, slide, trekking on the hills of the Algarve, etc.

This year, 2010, South Adventures opened a SUP School and Tours, expanding the activity with this wonderful sport, being a fantastic option for those non wind days.
