Split is the largest city on the Dalmatian coast, in the south-west of Croatia. The city is located on the shores of the Adriatic Sea, spreading over a central peninsula and its surroundings, with its metropolitan area also including the nearby seaside towns.

A transport hub in the region, Split is a link to the numerous surrounding Adriatic islands as well as the Apennine Peninsula making it a dream location for any sports enthusiasts on land or water. The Dalmatian coastline run parallel to Italy's eastern coast and shares a similar climate: hot and dry in the summer with cool, wet winters.
