Seignosse is a town found on the south-west Atlantic coast of France, about 15 miles north of Bayonne on the Bay of Biscay. The town is made up of two areas, Seignosse Bourg (the town), and Seignosse Plage (the beach).
The town is typical of this region of France: it is very picturesque, with quaint buildings and narrow village lanes. The town's 5km stretch of beautiful sandy beaches offer some of the best waves the Atlantic has, making this a surfer’s paradise. area, there are several campsites very close to the beach. These offer cheaper accommodation for those looking to spend several weeks in the area, enjoying the sun rays and ripping waves.
It’s not all surfing though, as the forestry behind the sand dunes offers plenty of opportunities for other activities like mountain biking, tennis and scenic walks.
Another sport that Seignosse has become famous for is golf; as the town hides Europe’s 15th best golf course in among its pine tree forestry, with several beautiful and natural water features to overcome, or lose your ball to. You can also find restaurants hidden within the pine forest, overlooking Seignosse's two beautiful lakes: Etang Noir and Etang Blanc.
Other water activities to try your hand at are canoeing, rafting and sea kayaking, as well as sailing and windsurfing. The nightlife in Hossegor is also pretty good, and is within easy walking distance.
