Tignes is part of the L’Espace Killy ski region in the French Alps, and is one valley across from the world famous Val D’Isere. Tignes is a high resort at 2100m, and its highest chairlift reaches 3456m; so Tignes has a very reliable snow record. Tignes is also built below the Grand Motte glacier which helps to provide reliable skiing conditions for much of the year. Tignes is comprised of the five villages Val Claret, Tignes le Lac, Le Lavachet, Tignes Les Boisses and Tignes-les Brévières - the first three at 2100m, whilst the last two are found lower in the valley, above and below Tignes Barrage dam....
