Skiing

A relatively new tourist attraction, Montenegro is finally making the most of its beautiful natural assets. For years its ski fields in the north have been the preserve of locals. Finally, these first-rate slopes are open to tourists. Now you can also explore the area on snow mobiles, or climb the snowy regions of northern Mt. Bjelasica. The nearby ski resort, Jezerine, remains snow-covered through autumn, winter and spring. Maintained to an Olympic standard for international competitions, these slopes stretch over nine miles. The slopes at Jezerine can take 8,000 skiers at any one time. In reality, however, you can bomb down well-maintained trails in March and April with only a handful of fellow skiers to bother you.
