This central Moroccan city lies near the foothills of the snow-capped Atlas Mountains. Marrakech is divided into two parts: the historical city (Medina), and the new European modern district (Gueliz). Wandering through the city, you pass frequently between the two; the Medina is full of winding, narrow passageways and local shops full of character.
