Once the capital of the old province of the Algarve, Lagos lies at the mouth of the Bensafrim River and along the Atlantic Ocean in southern Portugal. The huge number of great beaches on the southern tip of Portugal offers unique conditions for all kinds of watersports and outdoor activities. The town is located on the edge of a superb bay and has five different beaches all within walking distance. A modern and well equipped marina dominates the sea front and the town is now firmly positioned as a thriving hub for watersports enthusiasts to visit from all over the world.
