Once the capital of the old province of the Algarve, Lagos lies at the mouth of the Bensafrim River and along the Atlantic Ocean in southern Portugal. The huge number of great beaches on the southern tip of Portugal offers unique conditions for all kinds of watersports and outdoor activities.
