Awesome beach shack right on the water fully equipped pro shop with demo's and rentals available everyday. The beach is sand and short manicured grass, perfect with lots of open space.
The atmosphere at Kitty Hawk Kites Kiteboarding School is enchanting with colorful flags, banners, kites, and music. The guys there rock and are very helpful!
Southwest and windy, bring your 12.0 meter kite!! Let Kitty Hawk Kites be your vacation quiver with rentals and Try Before you Buy. Rent a new kite and see the difference your equipment can make! Smooth ultra stable side on-shore perfect winds. Winds are usually best in the afternoon and often there is wind at Kitty Hawk Kites Kiteboarding Center, when there is wind nowhere else on the Outer Banks. Super warm bath water that feel like a hot tub. Flat water riding with small chop. Shallow water, never deeper than you can touch.
The riding spot is amazing for beginners and advanced. It is probably the best kept secret on the Outer Banks. You can catch a boat ride upwind with Kitty Hawk Kites Kiteboarding Center to Pleasure Island and then do a wicked downwinder through the islands with ultra flat slick water back to the shop.
Upwind of the bridge is John's Ditch, 3-4 miles of inland waters spotted with small islands to create a myriad of waterways that form a crazy maze of fun riding spots.
Friday night Downwind Adventure and sunset deck party and BBQ is FREE for all to attend from Memorial Day to Labor Day! It is the BEST place to kiteboard! |

Efficiencies at a low price: Sea Foam Motel and the Manor Motel is the way to go for small efficiencies at an affordable rate.

Do whatever you have to do to get here, stay wherever you have to. Sleep in the parking lot, there is a shower at the kiteboarding center.

Straight shot South from Norfold International Airport. Follow 168 to 158 to the Outer Banks. Once on the Outer Banks, you start at milepost 1 and you need to go 15 miles to the kiteboarding center located off the by-pass and soundfront. Breathtaking sunsets and incredible riding.
