Located in the German-speaking heart of Switzerland, Interlaken offers winter sports fans access to some of the most spectacular skiing in the Alps. This small city is in a spectacular lakeside setting, with Lake Brienz to the east and Lake Thun to the west. official' however with the launch of the Jungfrau Top Ski Region, containing more than 160km of trails in ski centres above Grindelwald. These trails are all linked to Interlaken by a mountain railway. The average length of ski runs in the area is a remarkable six to twelve kilometres.

The vast amounts of water adorning this city include idyllic clear mountain streams and waterfalls running off the hills and into the lakes. The resort offers dozens of water-based activities throughout the year. Interlaken is a great spot to learn the skill of canyoning: Rappel, slide and jump down rocks and waterfalls into the white water-filled Saxeten canyon. This majestic canyon gives a real feeling of being truly immersed in nature as you travel through the narrow gorges. Saxeten only takes half a day to conquer and gives a taster of the sport that will leave you hungry for more.

The mighty Lutschine River offers some of the best white-water rating in the Swiss Alps. Straight from the start below the Eiger North Face, continuous class four rapids surge down from the mountains and out into the Interlaken valley.

Interlaken's high altitude, snow-capped mountain peaks and stunning lake valleys make this an incredible spot for paragliding, hang-gliding and skydiving. Each of these sports give you a unique view of this sublime landscape.
