Trekking is basically walking but a little more hardcore. Often it involves hiking in mountainous areas, carry gear for overnight camping and covering long distances over anything from a day or two to a few weeks. It is difficult to distinguish trekking from walking but for the purpose of our site the difference is that trekking involves staying in a different place each night and normally carrying your gear whilst walking is done from a set location that you return to each day.
