Walking is a great way to escape the towns and cities and to explore the countryside and wilderness on your own 2 legs. Walking is often used interchangeably with hiking but for the purpose of our site walking is from a set base that you return to each day whilst trekking involves staying in a different place each night and carry your equipment between. Walks can range in duration from a few hours to multiple days and can be tailored to the ability of the participants and is a great family activity enjoyed by all ages. You normally do not need a guide to go walking however if walking in a new place it can improve your experience as they will show you things that you would have missed and talk to you about the history and geography of the area.
